Erin Varriano, General Counsel for John L. Scott, recently participated in the “Battle of the Barristers” at Meydenbauer Center, an annual event that is sponsored by Seattle King County REALTORS®. Over 600 Realtors attended this event that featured some of the most prominent attorneys in the Greater Puget Sound including Annie Fitzsimmons (the legal hotline lawyer for Washington REALTORS®), Chris Osborne, Lars Neste and Mike Spence. The event covered a number of topics including the upcoming legislative changes that affect Buyer Representation agreements, the national lawsuits and a hodgepodge of legal topics that Realtors face on a daily basis.
It was Erin’s first time participating in the event but she represented John L. Scott with well thought out positions and a few comic reliefs that got the entire audience laughing. “I had a great time and really enjoyed the camaraderie of my fellow Barristers. I think we presented scenarios and best practices that could be applied immediately to all attending, and I appreciate the willingness of our Realtor communities to continue to hone their craft by attending these events.”
