Wrapping up Fair Housing Month!

Every April, REALTORS® commemorate the passage of the Fair Housing Act of 1968 with events and education that shine a light on housing discrimination and segregation, and a recommitment to expanding equal access to housing. As we near the end of this month, we wanted to pass on a few resources to help you continue making a positive impact on our industry in April and beyond.

John L. Scott’s 90th Anniversary Project: Last week, John L. Scott Chairman & CEO J. Lennox Scott shared a video announcing our company’s 90th Anniversary project. We would like to invite JLS team members to come alongside and match John L. Scott’s $90,000 donation. If you’d like to donate, click here.

Free webinar (for Washington REALTORS members only): On Friday, April 30 from 10-11 a.m., Washington REALTORS is running a free webinar for members only called Implicit Bias and Why It Matters. In this webinar, Jerod Grant with Cultures Connecting will cover what Implicit Bias is and why it matters to real estate professionals. You can register for this webinar by clicking here.

The Color of Law: John L. Scott Chairman & CEO J. Lennox Scott believes that Richard Rothstein’s 2017 book, “The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America,” is something everyone in the real estate community should read or listen to via audiobook. Click here to view a quick summary video outlining some of the history that’s critical to understand when reflecting on Fair Housing today.
