Metro, the regional government serving Portland that tracks growth trends (used to help plan the area’s future land use strategies), projects big things for the Rose City and its environs.
Specifically, Metro forecasts that the region will host 3.5 million people by 2060, up from 2.4 million today.
Intuitively, all those new people will need places to live. Many will also work for businesses that need buildings in which to work.
It’s a good thing, then, that so many construction projects have launched. The construction industry led Oregon’s key jobs sectors in terms of overall growth during 2017, according to the state’s employment department.
