Recognizing Black History Month

Black History Month, also known as African American History Month, serves as an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Since 1976, every American president has designated February as Black History Month and endorsed a specific theme. This year’s theme is Black Health and Wellness.

Washington REALTORS will be presenting two webinars this year for Black History Month. See below to learn more and register:

  • Homesight, Homeownership, Community Development Webinar (Feb. 7 at 1 p.m.): The DEI Committee is hosting HomeSight. Attendees will learn about HomeSight and their down payment assistance programs.
  • NAREB Black Homeownership Webinar (Feb. 15 at 1 p.m.): The DEI Committee is hosting NAREB’s Local President Nicole Bascomb to discuss Black Homeownership programs, partnerships and ways REALTORS can support breaking barriers to homeownership.
