Thach Nguyen, a broker with John L. Scott Renton, has partnered with Seattle Sounders FC’s philanthropic arm, RAVE Foundation, to build two, small-sided, turf soccer fields near where he grew up. These fields in Seattle Housing Authority’s NewHolly community will be free, open for play, and unrentable by outside groups. In addition to the new soccer fields, every child that lives within one mile walking distance of the fields will receive their own, brand-new soccer ball to play with!
These special fields at NewHolly, located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood, are two of 26 fields that will be built by 2026. Thach’s goal is to raise $400,000 for the NewHolly project, and he’s currently raised more than $340,000! And, every dollar that Thach, his network, his vendors and his relationships raise will be matched dollar for dollar by RAVE and Sounders FC.
Thach was invited to present the first $300,000 of the funds he’s raised at a Sounders game earlier this month. During halftime, Thach presented the big check to the RAVE Foundation on the turf at Lumen Field!
