John L. Scott relocation contributes to Mobility Magazine

Recently, our relocation department was given the opportunity to provide a Market Summary article for the October issue of Mobility Magazine, Worldwide ERC®’s monthly magazine. VP of Relocation Services, Barry Matheny, worked with PR and Communications Manager Erin Flemming to develop this article, centered around the past, present and future of the Seattle-area real estate market.

Mention the city of Seattle, and people’s minds will conjure up some combination of the movie Sleepless in Seattle, rain, Starbucks, grunge music, Amazon and the fish throwers at Pike Place Market. However, the city of Seattle and surrounding areas have much more to offer residents. Seattle and the surrounding region have experienced immense growth and evolution over the years, and there are many exciting changes to come that are sure to impact the market.

[…] Within the Seattle city limits, however, you’ll find a city that’s evolved far past its roots as a timber town. In Seattle’s post-war years, the local economy grew largely in part due to the headquarters of Boeing and Microsoft in the area, and recently with Amazon’s monumental growth and success. As of 2017, the Puget Sound metropolitan area’s population was approximately 3,867,046, making it the 14th largest Metropolitan Statistical Area in the U.S.
