Lauri McLeod, a broker with John L. Scott’s Lake Tapps office, was honored with the first-ever Rotarian of the Year Award from the Rotary Club of Sumner at their Giving Gala in March. Lauri has been involved with the Rotary Club of Sumner since 2011, and since she has been co-chairing the Giving Gala, it has raised $225,000. Additionally, when she co-chaired the Girls Night Out event for the Rotary Club of Sumner.
In his speech announcing Lauri as the recipient of the Rotarian of the Year Award, Rotary Club of Sumner president Brad Moericke said Lauri embodies what the Rotary organization stands for: “Service Above Self.”
“Lauri brought her passion to help others and her talent in business, not to mention her keen ability to never take “NO” for an answer and has chaired some of our Club’s most successful events including Girls Night Out and this Giving Gala,” said Moericke. “This Rotarian not only knows how to raise money, but more importantly she knows how to have fun doing it! She believes in Rotary and what Rotary stands for and the notion that through Rotary, we can do far more for our community than one might ever accomplish alone.”
