On Wednesday May 9, over $3,500 worth of donations from John L. Scott Westwood and Evergreen Home Loans were donated to Chief Sealth International High School. Many of these items will be going to “The Closet Room,” a place where students in need can pick up clothing, school supplies and toiletries at no cost. This is a critical resource because school officials report approximately 90 students are currently homeless and many more live at or below the poverty line.

“As local business owners, I believe it is both our privilege and our duty to do everything in our power to make local communities stronger,” said Chantille Henry, co-owner of John L. Scott Westwood. “High school students are often overlooked, yet I believe it’s critical to support them and welcome them into the community as they transition into adulthood.” Inspired by John L. Scott’s core value, Living Life as a Contribution®, Chantille founded the John L. Scott Westwood Cares program, which will encompass a number of charitable drives and community-focused events throughout the year. This particular drive was a partnership with Evergreen Home Loans, and benefited from the generosity of clients from both John L. Scott Westwood and Evergreen Home Loans.

Additionally, a gaming chair was donated for the special needs classroom.
