The most recent report from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service showed growth in new real estate listings and pending sales compared to February. The current report covers March.
“What used to be a quick action market for buyers is now, once again, an instant response market, and this has been the case since the first of the year,” said J. Lennox Scott, chairman and CEO of John L. Scott Real Estate.
“This is especially true in the more affordable and mid-price ranges in all markets, and also pertains to luxury properties close to the job centers.”
Pending sales climbed more than 29 percent and the volume of new listings climbed more than 45 percent from February to March in the 23 counties Northwest MLS serves.
In Lewis County, MLS reported 119 new listings for single family homes and condos for March. There were 211 total active listings, 138 pending sales and 105 closings.
This is up from the beginning of the year, when there were 88 new residential and condo listings in January. There were 233 total active listings, 128 pending sales and 78 closings that month as well.
The average price for closed sales in March was $241,515, while the median price was $225,000. There were 2.01 months of inventory, compared to 2.18 months of inventory in March of last year.
