Living Life as a Contribution

South Hill Office Volunteers at Ronald McDonald House

Team members from the South Hill office recently served a meal to over 100 families and children at the Ronald McDonald House and they’ll be making it a regular event.

Principal Managing Broker Jim Morrison of the South Hill office shared this thoughts and these great photos on the team’s recent experience of serving a meal at Ronald McDonald House (RMH):

“This was the South Hill office’s first dinner for RMH, and it won’t be our last! We’re adding more dinners and we already scheduled two lunches for the summer. One of the things I like most about volunteering at RMH is it gives us a chance to give back to the community and help the kids.”

“One of my takeaways from the evening is seeing all the families and how happy they are to have a home-cooked meal; it makes it so special. Volunteering makes me feel like I am doing something to make a difference in someone’s life, even if it’s just a small thing like a meal. We are Living Life as a Contribution™ because we are helping make someone’s day or life better. And, I can speak from experience: thirty years ago, we spent 21 days at children’s hospital so any chance I can come back and help others is a blessing.”

If you’d like to volunteer at an RMH, please please ask your Office Leader about a volunteer opportunity in your local area. In 2017, John L. Scott Foundation volunteers served over 42 meals!
