“As a little girl growing up in China, the New Year was always a major highlight for me because it was then that my brother and I would be spoiled with candy and new clothes. We would proudly wear our new outfits that our parents had scrimped and saved for throughout the year. I always look forward to this time of year in Portland because of the yearly gala held by the Chinese Friendship Association of Portland (www.portlandcfa.org).

This year on January 29th, my Principal Broker, Brigitte Pascutoi, and I attended The Chinese New Year Celebration at the West Linn High School auditorium along with over 500 others. The gala features dozens of performers that sing, dance, and demonstrate kung-fu. There’s even a mini fashion show showcasing the hottest Asian-inspired designs. Guests include representatives from State and Local government and the Chinese Ambassador based in San Francisco. We took the opportunity to connect with attendees by sponsoring the show and staffing a John L Scott booth during the meal.

The New Year is an opportunity to celebrate a year of hard work, enjoy the harvest, reconnect with family, and look forward to a prosperous year! ”
