JLS Gig Harbor is very proud of Broker Services Representative Deborah Hope. Her choral group, Choral Arts, was chosen to perform for the President and First Lady this month. Here’s her story:
“I am lucky to be able to sing in a group that was selected by the White House to perform at one of their Holiday gatherings. Evidently they had heard one of our recordings on the internet, and chose us. What we didn’t know was that in addition to our performance, we received a private tour of the White House, which was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the party of that day. We were also thrilled to learn half-way through the day that we would be greeted by the Obamas personally, and have a photo with them. They shook hands with each of us, and thanked us for coming to the White House to share our music with them. After our photo, we sang to just the two of them, and actually made the First Lady cry. We also got to pet their dog, Sunny, and see Bo. It was an incredible experience for all of us!”
