Erin Varriano, General Counsel for John L. Scott, recently participated in Battle of the Barristers at Meydenbauer Center, an annual event that is sponsored by Seattle King County REALTORS®. This sold-out event featured some of the most prominent attorneys in the Greater Puget Sound including Annie Fitzsimmons (legal hotline lawyer for Washington REALTORS®), Chris Osborne, Lars Neste, and Mike Spence.
The event’s theme was “Reduce Your Legal Liability.” The format was a panel discussion of three real estate transaction scenarios—plus a lightning round—and participants had the opportunity to submit questions to the barristers in writing.
Erin said it was a privilege to stand among esteemed colleagues and participate in the event as it always promises a lively exchange of legal arguments and valuable insights critical for anyone involved in real estate. “The thoughtful questions from the attendees brought out the practical dimensions of the legal issues we debated. Being able to provide real-time legal guidance to Realtors on pressing issues is incredibly rewarding. It is a reminder of why these conversations matter—law is not just theory, it is something that shapes the transactions, relationships, and successes of the real estate community,” she shared.
