The John L. Scott Bellingham office recently spent a sunny day outside supporting a local Habitat for Humanity project. A group of volunteers from the office helped with mitigation work at the Telegraph Townhomes project. This project from Habitat for Humanity and Kulsan Community Land Trust is building 24 townhomes for affordable housing. The 24 families who will live in the townhomes will receive a subsidized loan after putting in at least 400 hours of sweat equity into the project.
The Bellingham John L. Scott office helped raise money for this project last year and members of the offices have volunteered twice so far. Paul Balzotti, the owner of the Bellingham John L. Scott office, said they plan to be back again to volunteer for the project again.
“We think the Telegraph Townhomes is a great project to support… I can’t think of a more relevant thing to be involved with as a real estate firm than helping with housing projects like this in our local community,” said Balzotti. “This time we worked on mitigation work around the salmon bearing creek that the property backs to. Every detail of this project is important and we can’t wait to see the final product supporting our community.”
