Keeping Shelton clean with the weekly Walk the Block project

For about a year now, the John L. Scott office in Shelton has been holding a regular volunteer event called Walk the Block. Every Tuesday, John L. Scott Shelton brokers, staff and other community members meet up with trash bags and protective gear in tow to clean up the downtown Shelton area. Jenny Segle, the Shelton office manager, said the idea was born out of a desire to give back in a way that gives participants the chance to enjoy what the charming town of Shelton has to offer.

“I think something integral about the Shelton office is that our brokers like to give back throughout the community,” said Segle. “In addition to fundraising for our new local Shelton Family YMCA, spending time at local animal shelters and doing supply drives for homeless teens in the area, we also take the time every Tuesday to come together for our town. A common local phrase is #SheltonStrong, and being John L. Scott agents, Living Life as a Contribution is a mantra to us that means just as much.”
