On Feb. 1 in Las Vegas, Chairman and CEO J. Lennox Scott received LeadingRE’s Leadership Award, which celebrates brokers whose leadership skills and achievements have drawn the attention and admiration of others.
Here’s the back story: Lennox had no idea he had been nominated so the award was a complete surprise! The Executive Team had secretly submitted the award on his behalf in November, 2017. The submission detailed how Lennox exemplifies the core value of John L. Scott Real Estate: Living Life as a Contribution in every fact of life – at work, at home, and in the community.
Here’s an excerpt from the Leadership Award submission by Barry Matheny, Vice President of Relocation: “Lennox consistently demonstrates the strength of his conviction in Living Life as a Contribution by simultaneously ‘talking the talk’ and ‘walking the walk’. Over the ensuring years and decades, he has built an unparalleled legacy.”
No one from the Executive Team had been notified Lennox was going to receive the award so when Lennox’s name was announced on Feb. 1, it was a surprise to everyone– especially Lennox! Jennifer Lind, VP of Business Strategy said, “It was so rewarding to see Lennox’s smile, and to know we had done a small thing for a leader who continues to give us so much.”
