John L. Scott Tacoma UP office holds food drive for Eloise’s Cooking Pot

The Tacoma-University Place John L. Scott office recently held a food drive for Eloise’s Cooking Pot.

The John L. Scott Tacoma-University Place office recently held a successful food drive for Eloise’s Cooking Pot, a local food bank that serves more than 120,000 of Pierce County’s most vulnerable citizens.

Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank is the #1 food delivery service in Pierce County, and supports the community in ways that include drop-in sites, delivery service, classes around healthy food shopping, and more. The courier for Eloise’s, Dylan, was quite astonished by the load he came to pick up from the office, noting that he hadn’t seen that much in an office pick-up.

“We’ve got a great, giving and big-hearted team,” said office leader Narva Walton. “The brokers of the JLS Tacoma-University Place office were very pleased to help reduce hunger for families in our local community; especially during these trying times.”

Office administrator Oksana Kiforishin added that the drive garnered “awesome participation” from brokers and staff. Brokers had the choice of bringing the food to the office or donating cash for office staff to do the shopping. Some did both. The team also sold old office file cabinets that weren’t being used and used those funds to buy food.
