Housing prices climbed to record highs in the Stanwood-Camano area as the inventory squeeze gets tighter.

In February, the median price of homes sold hit an all-time high of $459,000 on Camano Island and $375,000 in Stanwood.

Combined, 179 homes were sold in February in Stanwood and on Camano, while 186 new homes hit the market — adding up to about one month of available inventory.

To compare: In February of 2016, the Stanwood-Camano area had 381 homes for sale.

Many brokers expect inventory levels to improve, according to Northwest Multiple Listing Service officials.
