The Benefits of Using a Tablet

Happy Young Couple Discussing With ConsultantTablets make it easy for agents to show property details during an open house and handle various other tasks.

“A tablet really gives a real estate agent mobile productivity,” says Tom Flanagan, vice president of technology for Alain Pinel REALTORS®. “You really can’t pick up your desktop computer and bring it out in the field.”

Moreover, tablets are smaller and lighter than laptops and have a longer battery life. “It gives you a wealth of knowledge and data right at your fingertips,” Flanagan adds.

Agents can use tablets to plot out the day’s itinerary using a 3-D map app, access real estate sites in a Web browser, search for properties, create and edit PowerPoint presentations, access an assortment of apps, and essentially work anywhere in the field. They can also store disclosures, listing agreements, offers, and property photos and videos; close deals using a currency converter; and electronically sign documents — resulting in a paperless office. Tablets even make it easy for agents to communicate with team members and clients while in the field.
